My interest in Embroidery was ignited in my early 20’s, after completing my textile degree at Loughborough Art college. With a passion to further my knowledge of historical textiles and embroidery I embarked upon a 3 year apprenticeship at the Royal School of Needlework , Hampton Court Palace.
The practical skills and proffesional practice acquired during my studies covered all aspects of hand embroidery, and now form an important of my work today.
Working for over 20 years as a professional hand embroiderer I now specialise in metal thread embroidery (Goldwork). The textures, jewellery like finish and the good old fashioned sparkle hold endless inspiration for me as an embroidery designer.
