The threads in Metal work embroidery are held on the surface of the fabric by a sewing thread, and depending on the type of metal it is either stitched over or through, like a bead. The application and finish of each thread creates a different texture to suit the style of the design whether it be smooth and shiny or layered and sculptural.

Learn how to work with a variety of metal threads and master stitches including couching passing with colour (Or Nue), basketweave cutwork, applying silk covered plate and cutwork S’ing. Once finished, your Jay is surrounded with 2 wooden autumnal oak leaves and mounted in the hoop (optional).

Becky will guide you step by step through the project through a series of live demonstrations and, in addition provide you with pre recorded videos to watch at your leisure.

You will also have the option of joining a specific Jay embroidery WhatsApp group. Here, images can be shared of your progress or any challenges you have and Becky can give you feedback.
